Lonsdor K518ISE OBD adds new keys to Ford Mustang 2016: Success!

Test report: Lonsdor K518ISE auto key programmer add keys to Ford Mustang 2016, through OBD

The process:
Connect the Lonsdor machine with the car via diagnostic socket
Select the model (here: Ford mustang 2016)
Switch ignition off, open and close the driver door once
At least 2 smart keys are required
Communication is connecting...
Lonsdor read out Part number, VIN number, and numbers of current keys

Communication is connecting...
Reading car PIN codes...

Insert the key into the key slot (usually located in the central armrest box or cup holder)

Programming...

Remove the key and insert the second one to go on

Programming...
Identified number of programmed keys in the car: 2

Programming completes!

Test the keys; both work perfect

How to use Lonsdor K518ISE Hex Editor

Open Hex editor


  • In【settings】menu, select【Hex editor】in below pic.

  • 【Hex editor】interface as shown in below pic.

Back to home screen    Back to previous menu

Open file

【Hex editor】interface: You can only click【Open file】 and 【Calculator】. Other grey buttons are unclickable when no file is read.
  • Please open file first before further operations. Click 【Open file】and select right path to store the file. Refer to below pics.

customfile:Store user temporary data
file:Store APP data

Select a bin file, opened as a Hex file as shown below.

Search data

  • Click【Search data】, and prompt “Please input data to be searched”. Then input the data and click【Search】. Default values is on where the cursor is in below pic.

  • Small keypad:
Click number to input data.
Click “←” to delete data.
Click “close” to close the keypad.
  • Stop searching data: Please click【Cancel】.
  • Start to search data: please click【Search】, and the cursor will skip to corresponding data as shown below.

For example: If you input No. 12, and click【Search】. The data you’re searching is highlighted as shown below.

  • After searching the data,【Search previous】and【Search next】buttons will turn to blue and clickable. Click【Search previous】or【Search next】, and you will find previous or next same data.

Edit data

  • Revise a Hex number: Please search and find the number. Then click【Edit data】to revise it. For example, click to edit data when you find No. 12 (see below pic).

If you want to change the number to A9, please input A9 on small keypad directly. Then all the number will change to “A9” synchronously.

Save file

  • How to save revised data: Click【Save file】to input filename and click【Save】.
  • You can also return to home screen and select “not save”. The revised data will not be saved in this case. Click【Save file】as shown below.

  • The filename defaults to be the one when it’s open. If you need to revise the filename, click the prompt frame and input new filename and click 【Save】. Refer to below pic.

Calculator

【Calculator】includes two functions: SysConvert and XOR.
  • SysConvert: Arbitrary conversion among Hex, Bin, Dec and Oct.
Click any number on the screen, and the number will be converted automatically. For example, click “94”, the calculator will convert it to Bin, Dec and Oct numbers. Refer to below pics.

Prompt frame can be moved around the screen.

You can also input data to convert it with small keypad, as shown below.

  • For XOR, you need to input No.1 and 2 manually. The calculating result is as follows:

This help file basically includes 4 parts: Function, Operation, Attention, and
Reference.
Functions
Operational process for all key lost
Please confirm whether emulator key (SKE) is bound to K518 device beforehand.
Backup EEPROM data-> Generate new data-> Dismantle immo box and write
new data to EEPROM-> Generate SKE-> Add/delete smart key
  1. Backup original EEPROM immo data.
  2. Use backup data to generate new data.
  3. System certify and generate new data automatically, and program SKE to
become an available key,which can open dashboard.,before key programming.
  1. Add a smart key.
  2. Delete programmed key.
  3. Bind SKE: Require to bind all SKE to K518 for the first use.
Operation
Operational process for all key lost
Please confirm whether K518 is bound to emulator key (SKE).
  1. Backup EEPROM data--> 2. Generate emulator key (SKE)--> 3. Use SKE to
switch ignition ON--> 4. Add smart key
Operation 
  1. Backup EEPROM immo data.
  2. Generate a SKE for emergency use.
  3. Put the SKE close to start button and dashboard will be lit up.
  4. Add a smart key.
  5. Delete a smart key.
Bind emulator key
  1. This function can bind emulator key (SKE-LT series) to K518 host.
  2. Please insert key to be bound into the host slot.
  3. System is binding... Program key when key binding complete.
Backup EEPROM data
  1. This function can backup EEPROM data.
Generate SKE for emergency when data backup complete.
Insert SKE to switch ignition ON and open dashboard.
  1. Receiving vehicle immo data... Please wait patiently.
  2. Please name EEPROM backup data.
  3. Data backup succeed.Please select “generate emulator key”function to generate a spare key for emergency.
Generate emulator key
  1. This function can generate a spare master key when all keys are lost, which can
open dashboard to add other keys.
  1. Receiving local backup data...
  2. System shows current data and notify key type.
  3. Insert bound emulator key (corresponding color/type) into K518 host slot, and press
round button on the key.
  1. Generating SKE ... Please wait for 5 minutes patiently.
  2. When SKE is generated,press round button on it and put it against start button of
vehicle, and try to open dashboard.If the dashboard is lit up, please use SKE to
program and add new keys.

Add smart key
  1. Put SKE or available key against ignition switch and switch ignition ON till
dashboard is lit up.
  1. System communication, getting info about key numbers...
  2. Put registered smart key against vehicle start button, and remove it when
buzzer beeps once.
  1. Put smart key (to be registered) at start button of vehicle in 30 seconds, and
remove it when buzzer beeps twice.
  1. Please wait till key registration complete. Operation succeed.

Delete smart key
  1. Put emulator key or available key close to ignition switch and switch ignition ON till
dashboard is lit up.
  1. System communication, getting info about key numbers...
  2. Put back of registered smart key close to vehicle start button, and remove it
when buzzer beeps once.
  1. System is deleting key... Deleting succeed. Smart key (away from start button) will be deleted.
Bind emulator key: Require to power on the device when put emulator key intoAttentions
K518 host slot.

  1. System will read backup data of vehicle to generate emulator key and prompt
to choose corresponding key type(refer to back of the emulator).

4.For Carola/Vios/Zelas all key lost, programming is not available in a state of alarm.

Functions
Operational process for all key lost
Please confirm whether emulator key (SKE) is bound to K518 device beforehand.

function to generate specific data.
Generate EEPROM data
  1. This function can generateEEPROM data for vehicle.
  2. Continue to select EEPROM data of smart key backed up before.
  3. Searching data... Please input filename of new data.
  4. Generating EEPROM data complete. Data savedin K518\file\feature_1013.
Please write newly-generated data to EEPROM(IC003)in smart immo box of
vehicle. More details, refer to “Reference”.

Generate emulator key
It's required to write newly-generated data to EEPROM in smart immo box.
Dashboard is lit up after emulator key (SKE) generated.
  1. This function can generate a backup master key when all keys are lost, which
can open dashboard to add keys.
  1. Insert bound SKE(corresponding color/type) into K518 card slot, and press
round button on the key.
  1. System is building configuration... Please wait patiently.
  2. Key generation complete. Please press round button on it and put it against
ignition switch of vehicle, and try to open dashboard. If the dashboard is lit up,
please use SKE to program and add new keys.
Add smart key
  1. Put emulator key or available key against ignition switch and switch ignition ON
till dashboard is lit up.
  1. System communication, getting info about key numbers...
  2. Put registered smart key against start button of vehicle, and remove it when
buzzer beeps once.
  1. Please put smart key to be registered at start button of vehicle in 30 seconds,
and remove it when buzzer beeps twice.
  1. Please wait till key registration complete. Operation succeed.
Delete smart key
  1. Put emulator key or available key close to ignition switch and switch ignition
ON till dashboard is lit up.

when buzzer beeps once.
  1. System is deleting key... Deleting succeed. Smart key (away from start button)
will be deleted.
Bind emulator key
  1. This function can bind smart key emulator (SKE-LT series) to K518 host.
  2. Please put key to be bound into K518 host slot.
  3. System is binding... When complete, continue to program all keys lost.
Newly-generated data must be written to EEPROM chip in smart box.Attentions
Dashboard can be lit up after simulate key is generated.
  1. Bind key/generate key: Change placement of simulate key to sense if failed.
98 card smart box is located at back of storage box at passenger seat.
